About Us

Passionate about people, Malvern, great food and fine wines, we gave up our corporate jobs to create a contemporary Brasserie in the heart of historic Malvern. We purchased the Brasserie in February 2007 and spent a month totally refurbishing it.

We have travelled extensively and enjoy spending our time drinking coffee, sipping wine and dining in the world's Brasseries watching life at its best! So an idyllic corner of Malvern seemed a logical place to start. Passionate about quality not quantity we joined with Malvern Chef, Kevin Ratcliffe, to create superb seasonal food with 55 wines which are all available by the glass.

The Brasserie is small enough to have an  air of intimacy but large enough to cater for wedding and private parties.

Lynne used her interior design passion to create a smart but warm feeling on top of the Victorian tiled floor from the former butcher's shop, now relocated to the side.

While Pete's civil engineering and marketing background is put to good use in maximising storage space for wine and keeping the Club Pepper & Oz members regularly informed of developments.

With our Front of House Manager, Claire Guest, and our team we aim to ensure you have a great time when dining and/or wining at Pepper & Oz, with that personal touch that makes all the difference.

The name reflects both our personalities and the style and atmosphere we want to create. Lynne is the 'Pepper'  hot and spicy and if there was any justice Pete would probably be in a penal colony - hence the Oz for Australia!

Alternatively 'Pepper' as in great food with fresh ingredients and 'Oz' as in Australasia - a continent we love with its laid back open air lifestyle, passion for great food and new world wines.

The graphic with the logo is not a pepper but a eucalyptus leaf - representing the Koala's staple diet and the most dominant genus of tree in Australia more info.
