20 February 2010 GREAT MALVERN - GREAT DISASTERS? An eventful week in Malvern which welcomed visitors to the Energy Now Expo aimed at farmers and landowners understanding of renewables energy. Keen to keep the visitors here for extra nights we arranged a series of events to prevent them leaving Malvern - Fire, tree falling and heavy snow! A marketing coup! See home page for more! A WORD IN SUPPORT OF TOYOTA I am a great fan of the innovation and quality of Toyotas driving a Prius (£15 a year road tax). The litigious USA has yet again created a monster out what are probably problems encountered by all manufacturers. Do they not teach Americans the function of Neutral in manual or auto gear boxes? Friday 29 January 2010 Amazing! Today we see the fruits of the efforts of our Australian friend, Emilie, who has been working on marketing initiatives for us from East Malvern (where you ask?) Yes its a lovely seaside suburb of Melbourne, Australia. Her press release on our Limo-dine service has been run in the Malvern Gazette web site and today's paper. However, the first call came not from a customer, but Malvern Hills District Council who said they did not have any limousines registered as taxis. Well that caused us to research the word 'limousine'. Originating from the term for a shepherd's cloak in Limosin, France it become synonymous with luxury car, covering its passengers in better protection than a cloak! Our Taxi partner, Saiful from Malvern's A1 Taxis uses a C-Class Mercedes - described by Mercedes as a limousine in their marketing material - as opposed to a purpose built long wheel base 'stretch-limousine' - which we suspect the Council were alluding to! | |
